Whats the difference between Life Coaching and Counseling?
Life Coaching and counseling are very different. Therapy or counseling involves healing issues from the past while coaching focuses on where the client is now and what he/she is willing to do in order to get to where they want to go in the future. Counseling focuses on healing and Coaching focuses on today and moving forward. It is a collaborative process between the coach and client where the client builds awareness, connects with what’s most important in their life, uncovers what’s holding them back and then finds ways to move into action that aligns with their values. A Coach listens, asks questions to get to the heart of the matter, identifies commitments, provides accountability, and guides the client through unseen challenges or obstacles which may be preventing them from achieving a specific desired result.
