Whats the difference between liberal arts college & a conservatory; which is better for musical theater focus?

A liberal arts college focuses on the sciences and such, as well as the arts. Most major universities fall under the “liberal arts” category. A conservatory, on the other hand, offers the required science, english, history, etc., but focuses a lot more intensely on the music/theatre/arts curriculum. For a musical theatre major, you’d probably be best to look at a conservatory, especially if you’re really good. To do the Broadway type stuff, though, you have to be extensively trained in dance, theatre, and voice. A lot of actors with degrees went to school as a music/theatre major, and many of them studied at places like the Royal Ballet and other major companies. But yes, a conservatory would be your best bet for a stepping off point.
