What’s the difference between Introductory Discount and No Claims Bonus?
Introductory discount is a discount allowed by an individual insurer, at the time you take up your insurance. They may offer you an introductory discount equivalent of having a certain amount of No Claims Bonus. There are many reasons you may be allowed an introductory discount. For example if you have been a named driver on someone’s claim free policy for a number of years, but never had insurance in your own name you may be allowed a discount. Introductory discount it is not usually transferable to another insurer at the time of your renewal. However it is hoped you will have built up some real No Claims Bonus in the mean time.
