Whats the difference between Indie and Alternative music?
well, indie is a broader term. indie (short for “independent”) just means that the band is either not with a record label, they’re with a specifically indie record label, or that they describe their sound as indie (unique, different, one of a kind, etc.) alternative on the other hand CAN deal with indie bands, but it’s pretty strictly music that you wouldn’t be able to classifly into such genres as pop, rap, etc. alternative bands could be anyone from automatic loveletter to we the kings, to the ting tings.
