Facebook friends are people who are connected to you via your personal profile on Facebook. Facebook fans are people who have expressed interest in your business (or organization) by clicking the “Like” button on your fan page. Personal profile pages are usually reserved for family members, friends, co-workers you don’t mind mingling with after work and a select group of professional contacts you don’t mind sharing a bit of your personal life with.
