Data from the German Infant Nutritional Intervention Study (GINI),5 indicates that primary prevention of common allergic manifestations in infancy, such as atopic dermatitis, is possible by feeding either extensively hydrolyzed casein (EHF-C) or PHF-W formula, instead of intact cow’s milk protein (CMF) formula.
