Whats the difference between DVI and HDMI?
The major, and most obvious, difference is in the connector – the HDMI connector is one-third the size of the DVI-D connector. Both DVI-D single link and HDMI carry absolutely identical digital video signals. HDMI adds the ability to transport up to eight channels of high-quality digital audio and inter-component control signals. Cables are available with DVI-D connectors on one end and HDMI connectors on the other to facilitate connecting appropriately equipped components.
