Whats the difference between digital RGB and analog RGB?
Digital RGB is comprised of the Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal Sync, Vertical Sync, Data Clock, and Enable. Digital RGB signals are 0 to 5 Volts and are suitable to drive digital circuits. These signals are required to drive a LCD display panel. While conveniently produced at the “feature connector” of some adapter cards, digital RGB usually has a severe distance limitation (6 inches to 1 foot) unless special signal drivers and cable are employed. Digital RGB produced by some PC video cards require special software or video drivers to produce the correct signals for a given LCD panel.
