Whats the difference between “DEISTS” and “THEISTS”?

0

All Deists are Theists, but not all Theists are Deists. It is similar to asking the difference between being a Christian and being a Catholic. Some Christians are Catholics, but not all of them are Catholics. However, all Catholics are Christians. Theism is a very broad term that refers to the belief of some deity or some “higher power”. This can mean that someone follows a particular religion, or it could mean that someone just believes there is “something else out there” and puts no official name to it. Deism, on the other hand, is more specific. Those that are Deists do believe in a Deity or a higher power. However, these people do not believe that Deity does much more than create the universe. They believe in an “uninvolved god”. In other words, the Deity created the universe, created the earth, and created humans and animals, but then after that, the Deity stepped aside and does NOT get involved with his or her creation.
