Whats the difference between data, information, and knowledge?
The answer to this question may best be found in the realm of philosophy. One way to consider the question is by a matter of flow or progression. First, raw data is collected from some source. Then, some processing (like data mining) extracts or transforms data into information. This refined, directed information can be communicated to people, where, over time, it becomes knowledge.
