Whats the difference between CMOS sensors and CCD ones?
CCD image sensors are often used in the professional security cameras. Compared to CCD image sensors, CMOS are less expensive to fabricate, and operate a lower supply voltages, and tend to consume less power. Therefore, CMOS sensors are often used in the cameras for computer. CCD image sensors are the more mature technology, and this maturity gives them the edge on image quality today.
