Whats the difference between Chastity rings and Purity rings?
You wear a chastity ring as a promise to remain chaste. You wear a purity ring to promise to remain pure (sexually). Being chaste is to not have unlawful sex, while being pure is to be spotless, so a purity ring by definition is a bigger promise than a chastity ring, but most people…probably all people….take them to mean the same thing anyways. If you are wearing a purity/chastity ring and make out, fool around or have sex whether or not you are wearing it, you won’t go to hell for breaking your promise. That is the only penalty you will pay…you broke your promise and you’ll have to deal with that. The Bible does teach that those who are sexually impure will go to hell, so it doesn’t really matter if you have the ring or not, if you are sexually impure and don’t repent you’ll go to hell anyways. It’s better to not make a promise if you don’t think you can or will keep it.
