Caricature requires both the artist and the recipient to have a sense of humor as it is intended to be humorous. It is an exageration of a persons features with the intend to make a statement about the person’s unique qualities and should include the artist’s impressions and opinions on the subject. A portrait tries to faithfully capture a person’s likeness without exageration, and generally tries to portray the person in a good light and non humorous way.
