Whats the difference between Blue Topaz and Aquamarine ?
Though both are very pretty, fine aquamarine is a gem rarity. The topaz is turned blue in a laboratory using a very safe and permanent irradiation process. Since the topaz can be turned blue in a laboratory and we get aquamarine at the whims of nature, the supply of topaz is very high, keeping the price low. There’s something for everybody : a natural rarity at a higher price that may increase over time or a pretty gem that you can wear right now, available at a lower price. It’s like buying the original painting or the print.
