Whats the difference between baptist and methodist?
The Baptists don’t believe in infant baptism. The Methodists practise this. Baptists baptise by immersion, while Methodists use immersion, sprinkling, and pouring. Methodists have communion open to all believers, while Baptists invite only baptised church members to partake. Methodists have bishops and are governed by districts and Conferences of churches, while Baptists have self-governing independent congregations which choose their pastors. Methodist pastors are appointed to the various congregations by bishops, after consultation with the congregation. While a congregation may express itself as dissatisfied with a particular minister and request a change, the bishop’s decision is final.
