: Licensed massage therapists (LMTs) and Registered Massage Practitioners (RMPs) have 500 accredited hours of training at an approved establishment regulated by the Maryland State Massage Therapy Advisory Committee. An LMT has 60 credits of college courses. An RMP can only practice under a private business, health club or spa and is not allowed to take referrals from doctors. An LMT can practice in private business, health club, spa and healthcare facilities and can take referrals from doctors.
