What’s the difference between all of the computing-related majors that the Calvin offers?
The department offers programs in the following computing-related areas: • The BCS is for students who want to challenge themselves with our strongest program in computing, mathematics and science. • The traditional BA in Computer Science is for students who want a broader education, perhaps with a second major in some other area of interest. • The BA in information Systems is for students who want to focus more on information and management and less on programming and systems; it’s a great blend for someone torn between computer technology and business management. • The BA in Digital Communications is for students who are interested in applying computer technology to mass media; students take a lot of administration courses from us and several courses from CAS. You can find more information on these programs at our academics page.
