Alias is an email address at your domain (alias@yourdomain.com), which automatically forwards any mail received to some other real (with POP/IMAP access) mailbox under the same domain that you specify. Email forward is the same as alias, but any external POP/IMAP mailbox (under a different domain) can be used.
