Both editions offer the same feature set to support teams, the essential difference lies in the database engine and scalability. The EX Edition ships with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition whereas the ST Edition ships with both SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition. As a result the ST Edition is recommended for team of a high volume of users, roughly 35+ licences, and / or a large volume of contact records, typically 40,000+.
