Whats the difference between a shelf bra and a balcony bra?
The terms shelf bra, balcony bra and balconette bra are different marketing names for the same bra style. The style provides less coverage than demi-cup bras and effectively serves to lift breasts up and create fullness on the top of the breast. Simply put, these terms are just creative ways to describe how the construction of the bra lifts your breast up as if they were uniformly held up or supported by a “shelf” or a “balcony”.
