Whats The Difference Between A Serial Killer And A Spree Killer?
Serial killers: A serial killer is a person who over some period of time murdered at least three people. Some will say at least two. Quite often, it’s more than three people. In many cases, the murders took place over a period of months or years. Examples are men like Ted Bundy, Jeffery Dahmer and Henry Lee Lucas. Many times serial killers and their crimes are connected to rapes or sexual fantasies. Spree Killers: A spree killer usually murders his victim all within the same day or within a couple of days. Quite often, spree killers are set off by emotional triggers. Around 1997, a man named Andrew Cunanan murdered about five people within a couple of days, traveling from state to state. One of his final victims was a man named Gianni Versace, of the famous Versace family. Andrew Cunanan eventually took his own life in Florida. He’s a good example of a spree killer. Another example would be 19 year old Robert Hawkins of Nebraska. He murdered at least eight people at the Von Maur store
