Whats the difference between a Residential Park Home and a Caravan Holiday Home?

0

A PARKHOME (sometimes called a mobile home), which is built in accordance with BS.3632 “Specification for Residential Park Homes”, can be used for full residential use and can be your main UK residence. Residents are protected with security of tenure by the Mobile Homes Act if the Park is registered with a residential licence. A CARAVANHOLIDAYHOME is built in accordance with BS.EN.1647 which allows the caravan to be built with a lower insulation level suitable mainly for summer use. The caravan holiday home can be used on a holiday park for holiday use only, but cannot be your main UK residence. A timber clad LODGE can be built in accordance with BS.3632 but its use for residential or holiday purposes depends on the licence of the park. A lodge style caravan holiday home can also be built in accordance with BS.EN.1647 which may not be suitable for all year round holiday use. Holiday licences usually vary from nine to 12months holiday use.
