Whats the difference between a radiant barrier and the “so-called radiant barrier paints?”
There’s a big difference! A true radiant barrier reflects 90% or more of the radiant heat. The most effective reflective paint reflects only 78% of the radiant heat. Such reflective paints are NOT radiant barriers as they don’t meet the minimum 90% reflectivity requirement set forth for radiant barriers by the Department of Energy (DOE).
