What’s the difference between a polyester and acrylic solid surface?
Polyester resins tend to be less expensive that acrylics, and once chemically set are harder but more brittle than an acrylic. Acrylics are more flexible, and can be made malleable through the use of heat (thermoforming). Polyesters such as the Avonite Collections line use the translucency of polyester resins to achieve startling depth of colour. Our product lines, Meganite and Avonite Foundations are both high quality acrylics.
