Whats the difference between a hurricane, typhoon and a tropical cyclone?
Characteristically, they are exactly the same. Different parts of the world call them different things. In the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and eastern Pacific Ocean, we call them hurricanes. West of the International Dateline through the western Pacific Ocean, they are typhoons. In the Indian Ocean, they are called cyclones.
