Whats The Difference Between a Geek and a Nerd Anyways?
Some people may think there is no difference, but be careful what you call someone because in the geek and nerd world, there is a difference. Today geek is chic, it’s cool to be a geek, so when you go up to a geek and call him (or her) a nerd, they may be offended. If you call a nerd a geek, well I don’t know about that because I’m more of a geek myself, but they could be offended as well. I learned this when I first started becoming a geek and one day called my geeky boyfriend a nerd. He was offended and told me to never call him a nerd, he’s a geek. When I asked him what the difference was he said, “A nerd is someone who is smart and good in school, a geek who is someone who is smart in one area like video games or building computers, but not smart in other subjects like English literature.” Well I don’t think that’s the exact definition but it gave me the idea to find out what the exact definition is.
