Whats the difference between a disciple and an apostle?

A disciple literally is a student, or follower of Jesus. An apostle literally is a sent one of Jesus. All true Christians are disciples. In some way we are all apostles but their are also special apostles whose task is to train the church. Read Ephesians 4.1-13. Their it says that God gives to His church apostles, prophets, evangelists and pastor/teachers.
