Whats the difference between a Direct Print and a Decal Print ?
Direct printing is the most efficient method of printing onto ceramic and glassware products. The product is directly inserted into the printer to produce the design onto the ware. There is minimal handling of the product, and therefore more cost effective and efficient. Decal printing is the most ideal method of printing multi colour, and precise registration artwork and designs. The waterslide decal is first printed onto a special paper. Once the decal is finished, it is transferred to the ceramic or glassware by hand (hand decoration). With both direct and decal printing, once the image is on the product, it is then fired at the required temperature to fuse the pigments into the ware. All our products are baked/fired. Therefore the only difference in a Direct Print and a Decal Print is the method of printing.
