What’s the difference between a Dedicated Server and a Virtual Dedicated Server?

0

While Dedicated Server and Colocation customers bring-in or are assigned their own computer, a Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) customer instead shares a computer with several other VDS customers – maybe two or more VDS customers to a single computer. Within the shared computer, each VDS customer is provided with a dedicated amount of memory and hard drive space along with a dedicated operating system. This makes VDS an excellent choice for customers who have outgrown their shared web-hosting limitations (where as many as 50 customers may share a single computer), by offering them faster speeds and more space.
