Whats the difference between a decoder, an encoder, a multiplexer and a demultiplexer?

Encoder and Decoder is a pair of complementary tools, each needing the other to be useful. One most important reason to be needing a coding system is security. For example A bank sending instructions to another bank to instruct it to pay a sum of money into an account. The instruction will need to be encripted which is another word for encoded. The encription or encoding makes sure only someone authorized can read it to carry out the instruction properly. Most common way this is done by exchanging some kind of electronic or numerical key securely before the instruction is sent between the two banks. The key is then used to encode the most sensitive part of instruction before sending it away to the destination bank, This whole process is the Encoder process. The receiving bank will then use the key mentioned earlier to perform the reverse which is using the Decoder process to read the instruction. The Enigma Machines used by the German in World War II are one of the most well known exam
