Whats the difference between a cougar and a mountain lion?

0

Cougar, Mountain lion, Panther and even Puma are names given to describe the same animal. Official Zoological name is Felis concolor; because it resemble lion hence the named by common folk like us as Mountain Lion; Cougar may be derive from French word “Couguar”. Puma on the other hand from Spanish; but Panther must have been a mistaken use of word that made it into dictionary, as Panther was supposed to be Black Leopard, but also use to describe Mountain Lion these days.
