Whats the difference between a Connection and someone I share a trip with?

A “Share” is specific to a trip, while a “Connection” lasts from trip to trip. A Connection in TripIt automatically sees the destination and travel dates for every trip in your account. It’s a small amount of information that gets shared, but it is automatically broadcast to your entire Connection network (unless you set a specific trip to “private”). In contrast, when you Share a trip with someone, that person can see all the details of that specific trip– your exact flights, lodging, notes, maps, etc.
