A Psychiatrist is a Medial Doctor who may prescribe medications to treat mental health problems; most Psychiatrists work with a Psychologist or Social Worker whom provide counseling services. A Psychologist will have a Psychology Doctorate or a PhD in Psychology, and may conduct I.Q. testing or other types of diagnostic testing, as well as diagnose and treat mental illness. A Clinical Social Worker is Licensed to diagnose and treat mental illness. They cannot prescribe medication, but they are trained and experienced in assessing, diagnosing and providing treatment for mental illness.
