Whats the difference between a C02 tank and a compressed air tank?

I might buy a compressed air tank but I’m not sure what the difference between that and CO2 is. Plus I don’t know if my local paintball place has that type of air. I know they have C02 for sure but I’m new to this so every thing’s kind of unclear. CO2 is stored as a liquid, and because of this the tank doesn’t have to be structurally as strong as it would for Compressed Air. CO2 can cause your marker to freeze up and generally causes more wear on the internals. Compressed Air, other wise known as High Pressure Air (HPA) , Tanks are much like scuba cylinders. They have to be able to hold the air at pressures of 3000 to 4500 psi. HPA gives far more consistent pressure than CO2. The set up costs for HPA are more than for CO2 but the refills are cheaper. (I assume you are from the UK as I saw this in UK & Ireland section), Most UK Sites now run HPA with CO2 as an option. I know my local site (Holmbush in sussex) are dropping CO2 at the end of the yr or when their fill station is empty.
