Whats the difference between a bodystocking, a bodysuit, and a catsuit?
A bodysuit is basically a leotard that has snap closures at the bottom (crotch), making it more convenient to wear under other clothing – no need to strip to go to the toilet. It covers the torso, and might have sleeves too. (They were very popular in the early nineties – every girl at my uni would wear them as a top with jeans or a skirt as their dress-up attire.) A cat suit would generally be a “unitard” – a leotard with legs and probably arms too. Cat suits are sometimes worn for dance and exercises where you’d need a lot of flexibility in clothing. (In black they are also popular wear for movie cat-burglars and jewel thieves.) Bodystockings are lingerie made from a stocking-like material which covers the torso, legs, and usually the feet – basically a cat suit made from fishnet, lace, or similar material.
