Whats the difference between .45 auto and a .45 acp, will one accept the other?

As others have said, they are the same thing. Just be aware that there is a .45 Auto Rim or .45 ACP Rim. This is the same round but with a rimmed case for use in revolvers so that the case can be ejected. You can use a .45 ACP that isn’t rimmed in a revolver but you must use moon clips to eject the spent casings unless you want to take a pencil or rod and push each case out manually. You can’t use a .45 Auto Rim in an automatic pistol even though the only difference between the .45 Auto Rim and .45 Auto is the rim.
