Whats the definition of a pre-existing condition?
A pre-existing condition is any medical condition that you are diagnosed with prior to applying for health insurance coverage. For example, I was in a car accident in 2004 and fractured my L1 vertebrae, and my husband’s health insurance agent said they probably would not be able to give me coverage due to my pre-existing condition. If you feel that you have something wrong with you, but you have not yet seen a doctor about it, you have a case to fight when the insurance company says it was indeed a pre-existing condition. In most cases, you just have to explain that you didn’t know of the problem.
