Whats the deal with web-based email versus regular email?
For starters, one difference between web-based email and “regular” email is location, location, location. A web-based email account lets you access your mail from any computer connected to the Web, which might explain the name. And web-connected computers seem to be popping up all over the place these days: schools, libraries, cafes, hotel lobbies, shopping malls, and even airports. Unlike “regular” or “POP” email, which requires specific preferences to be entered into the email software, web-based email only requires a web connection.
