The two extra “speakers” on the APR sub are actually passive radiators. In some ways, they act like a port. Since the sub cabinet is sealed, the movement of the active 8″ driver causes fluctuations in the air pressure within the sub cabinet. This fluctuation essentially drives the passive radiators. The result is an exceptionally smooth and percussive subwoofer.
