CORI stands for Criminal Offender Record Information. The Criminal History Systems Board (CHSB) provides criminal offender record information to board certified, non-criminal justice agencies such as schools, day care centers, home health aides, youth athletic coaches, and municipal government agencies. In English: The CORI forms provide a mechanism for us to do a background check so that we can find out if any prospective volunteers are criminals, especially sexual predators. Massachusetts law requires that we do a CORI check on all volunteers.
