Whats the breakdown between men and women at Rose-Hulman?
MC: Well, the school is 80-20 men to women. Mechanical engineering is obviously a male-dominated field but not as much as computer engineering, which is almost 100 percent. UTM: Is that an issue for you? MC: I don’t mind it. I’ve always had a lot of friends. It’s not for everybody. But there are actually many girls in my classes. UTM: Do you feel that people stereotype put that ” nerd” stereotype on you because you’re an engineer? MC: I feel like that happened a lot more in high school than in college. Since I’ve been in college there’s a different level of geekiness that you have to reach for people to make fun of you there [laughs]. I think people realize, when they get into college, that engineering is really important to the world. UTM: What do you dream about doing with your career? MC: I’m not sure.
