Whats the big difference between Protestants and Catholics?
In short, Christianity in the modern day is divided into two main categories: Catholicism and Protestantism. Catholicism is the original form of Christianity founded by Jesus 2,000 years ago. The Church operates on divide authority given to her by Christ, which has been passed down through the ages through successive popes, St. Peter being the first. The Church relies on Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture (The Bible), and Church Magisterium (teaching office), to guide and lead the faithful as Christ intended.
