It depends on how many miles are on your Toyota. I would change the air filter which is usually pretty easy. I would use Purolator, Fram, or genuine Toyota parts. If you have over 100000 miles I would probably put a timing belt and tensioner in to be safe. I don’t know what your mechanical ability or knowledge is so I would say take it in to a reputable repair shop or the Toyota dealership in your area. I would only use genuine Toyota parts on that also. The next step would be to change spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, and oil filter. On imports I have noticed that NGK and Bosch are the big names and either one will do. The wires can be changed pretty easily just like the spark plugs. I would make sure you gap your plugs correctly and use spark plug wires that are recommended from the manufacturer and dealerships. The final step is to change the oil and oil filter. I like Fram and Purolator filters but some imports have a two stage oil pump in their engines and take an oil filter th
