Whats the best way to soften new leather?
A. Neatsfoot Compound is an ideal preparation to supple new leather. Apply one coat to the upper surface of the leather (the grain) and two coats to the underside (the flesh) and allow to soak in. For finer leathers, oil may be too heavy. Try Leather Balsam Intensive Conditioner which penetrates and nourishes to deeply condition and soften leather.
