Whats the best way to repair water soaked sheet rock in a ceiling due to a leak?
Depending on how large the room is for the ceiling that is is water damaged your best bet is to replace it. If you can replace A section you need to cut the damaged area out back to the stud as far away from the damaged part all the way around . but remember when tearing down the drywall that there is insulation above. Also if the room is small you may be able to just hang your new drywall over the water damaged drywall with two inch nails as long as you don’t have any real bad sags or bulges.
