Whats the best way to peel and cut a mango?
Mangoes can be difficult to peel and cut because the flesh clings tenaciously to the seed. Begin by cutting off one side of the mango, about 1/2 inch from the stem (just clearing the seed). Repeat on the other side. Some flesh will be left attached to the seed; you can cut this away with a paring knife. To make cubes, leave the skin intact and score the flesh of each half into cubes. Be careful you do not cut through the skin. Lay each half skin-side down on a cutting board. With the knife parallel to the skin, gently slice off the cubes. Or flex the skin so the cubes pop outward; then slice them off. To slice mangoes, cut the fruit away from the seed. Holding a knife parallel to the skin, gently remove the flesh from the skin and slice it.
