Whats the best way to get my dog to the vet?
Start putting her in the car for no reason but leave the door open and give her a reward. Just a small piece of jerky or a little biscuit and tell her she is a good girl for getting in the car. Do that several times a day. Next time get in the car with her and close the doors and sit in it with her for a few minutes talking to her and then reward her. Do that several times before going to the next step. This time get her in the car and drive to a park where she can be walked a bit before getting back in the car. Remember to reward her for getting in the car even if you have to toss the treat into the car to get her to go in after it tell her she is a good girl for getting in. You might want to see about a harness instead of a collar for getting her into the car and going to the vet as it is much harder for a dog to back out of a harness than it is a collar plus you have more control. My dogs love going to the vets for the simple reason they get boo boo treats. I have them in my pocket
