Whats the best way to clean up after shooting black powder?
Clean everything that touches fired black powder or Pyrodex as soon as possible after shooting. I clean my guns within an hour or two of firing. I also clean my brass as soon as I return home from shooting. Warm soapy water works well as do many of the commercially available black powder ‘solvents’. Clean your guns, inside and out, and do the same for one or two days afterwards. Always follow a cleaning with a light coat of oil.
