Whats the best way to change the partitions on my disk?

QUESTION: I just bought a new computer with Vista installed and I like it! But what I don’t like is that it comes with a 500 GB disk that’s all one big partition. I’d like to have at least two partitions, so I can put the data on a separate one and if I needed to reformat the operating system, I wouldn’t have to wipe out the data. I know I could format the disk and partition it when I set up Vista again but I don’t want to have to do that! Do I need Partition Magic? Does it work with Vista? Or do I need some other program? Thanks. – Jack P. ANSWER: When Partition Magic came out, years ago, it truly did seem like magic. You could resize and divide partitions without having to wipe everything out and start all over. Partition Magic is now owned by Symantec. Version 8.0 is the latest version.
