Whats the best way to build and develop Self Confidence?
Competence builds confidence. Realize that anything you fear — if it is not truly inherently dangerous — is something just new. Experiencing more new things builds confidence. If you’re afraid of people, intentionally put yourself in situations in which you’re interacting with a lot of people… Whether that be getting a new job, or simply going to the mall and intentionally walking up to people and starting conversations. The most important thing is to realize this: Fear is not a bad thing. It is your guide. Use it to find what you need to work on. Bask in it. Enjoy the racing of your heart during a new experience and realize it’s living at your edge and being a man.
If you really want to develop self-confidence, there is no one way to do it – you need to dedicate yourself to doing so, and be willing to try a number of different approaches, as everyone is different and responds to different things. Personally, I have found counseling to be very helpful. Counselors are professionals, and trained to help people with issues related to low self esteem and such. Often times, they can give a number of different suggestions and exercises to a person based on the type of person they are. The next thing I would do is get involved with some kind of spiritual/religious group or church. Even though I am not a Christian, and do not agree with alot of churches dogmas, I can say that knowing that there is a God who loves me and aceepts me for I am, and feeling that in the presence of others, is very empowering. If you have trouble with particular faiths, try a Unity church. They are very open and non-judgmental. Lastly, I would suggest spending some time learning
